The Talic Family

It rained, the coffee shop was closed, we had a mega fight bushwalking to the 'wrong' fishing spot and there were real tears after Dad ate the last 'perfectly toasted marshmallow' off someone else's stick. Yet, if you were to ask the kids, all their 'favourite things' came from everything not going to plan.

Sometimes I think my kids' lives are just a series of favourite things. Of pedal karts and ferry trips, of Tetris teeth and fishing at sunset, of toasting marshmallows and choosing the best dish on the menu. It's hard to accept, but sometimes it's not about perfect smiles, co-ordinating outfits and pretty locations. It really isn't.

Sometimes we don't get to pick the favourite things, and sometimes the best things come from everything going wrong.
